About the project:
Project Name: Strengthening of Rural Value Chains
Requirements:
Education: Postgraduate degree in a project-related field (e.g., rural development, agricultural economics, agronomy).
Professional Experience:
- Proven team leader experience, leadership and coordination skills in large-scale international financial cooperation projects in the sector of rural & agricultural development with specific focus on the development of agricultural value chains and access to input markets
- Proven donor experience with KfW, World Bank, African-, or Asian Development Bank, or similar donors is required
- Strong background in agricultural value chain development, facilitating access of farmers to input markets (i.e., seeds, mechanization, information systems, extension advisory), working with farmer-based organizations (like Cooperative Unions, Primary Cooperatives), inclusive agribusiness development, SME support, private sector engagement, out-grower schemes, contract farming models, matching grant schemes, agri-hubs
- Technical expertise in value chain development, export compliance, certification standards, and climate-smart agriculture
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and experience working with both public and private sector actors and particularly farmer-based organizations
- Previous experience in Ethiopia or similar contexts is preferred.
